Sanggau rep identified as man who died while crossing at Jalan Rock

KUCHING: The foreigner who died after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing the road at Jalan Rock, 3rd Mile, yesterday (Apr 15), was the people’s representative of Sanggau, West Kalimantan, in Indonesia.
 
He is identified as 44-year-old Arkadius Mungpin, a member of the Sanggau Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of the Golkar Party Faction.
 
This was confirmed in a statement by the Consul-General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching Raden Sigit Witjaksono yesterday.

He said the Consulate General will attend the process and help issue letters and documents for the deceased’s return to Indonesia after the autopsy is complete.
 
The deceased’s body will be taken back to his home in Sanggau, West Kalimantan, via the land border of Tebedu-PLBN Entikong.
 
Raden said the Consulate General had received information that Arkadius came to Kuching on April 14 for routine medical treatment at a private hospital.
 
The next day, prior to the fatal accident, the deceased was going for breakfast at an eatery adjacent to his place of stay.
 
Meanwhile, Fransiskus Ason, head of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party in Sanggau Regency, told Jurnalis.co.id, an Indonesian online news portal, that the deceased often went to Kuching for medical treatment.
 
“Arkadius went to Kuching for treatment. Yes (for treatment), he often consults there,” he said, as quoted.
