SRI AMAN: A search and rescue (SAR) operation for a three-year-old Patrick Igih Mohd Taufik who was reported missing at Rapak Baru oil palm plantation here, has entered its eighth day today.

According to the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, the operation yesterday (Day 7) was divided into two search sectors with 33 SAR personnel each.

The first sector had the team on 4KM search radius from the junction heading into the oil palm plantation until the location where the victim went missing, and the pepper plantation.

Meanwhile, the second sector had the team in 3KM search radius from three-road junction into the oil palm plantation and down the Katek River to the foot of the hill and, to the victim’s last seen location.

Shortly after, six teams of five personnel searched from the Bomba operation base to the oil palm plantation and valleys.

Each team was given a search radius of 2KM around the location where the victim went missing.

As at press time, the boy has yet to be found.
