SAR for senior citizen found missing on New Year’s Day

MIRI: An 61-year-old man was reported missing from his home in Kuala Suai since Jan 1.

Batu Niah Fire and Rescue station chief Rary Binjie said they received an emergency call from his family members at 9.54pm, prompting a search by his children.

The family realised that he went missing since 11am from Sunday (Jan 1)

They alerted the firemen and a search operation was mounted to find Adna Sulong who lives in Pasir Putih.

“A search and rescue (SAR) team was deployed to the scene after we were alerted at 9.54 pm.

“We have resumed the search today at 9am in the nearby jungle,” he told the New Sarawak Tribune.
