KUCHING: Sarawak Reform Party (STAR) President, Lina Soo stressed that Sarawak Baru, an alternative coalition to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Pakatan Harapan Sarawak will try to be inclusive of other political parties and NGOs.

When asked yesterday if it is open to United People’s Party (UPP) to join Sarawak Baru in view of the fact that United People’s Party (UPP) is still outside GPS, Lina Soo said, “We will try to be inclusive. If it is good for Sarawak, we are open.” Lina furthermore added, “We will welcome more parties, NGOs and groups.”

STAR is currently working together with Sarawak People’s Energy Party (TERAS) and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) in establishing Sarawak Baru to cooperate electorally for the next state election. Sarawak Baru is a new political coalition to be formed as an alternative to the Sarawak-ruling GPS and federal-ruling Pakatan Harapan Sarawak.

Both GPS and Sarawak Baru have yet to be registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
