KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sarawak fully supports the appointment of party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the country’s eighth Prime Minister.
Sarawak Bersatu chairman Jaziri Alkaf Alkaf Suffian said it was time for Muhyiddin to be elected, and once and for all, resolve the week-long political turmoil in the country.
“Muhyiddin’s appointment is timely because of his credibility and experience in politics. He is the most suitable person to replace Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Jaziri said Muhyiddin’s appointment also brought good news to the people of Sarawak as he believed the latter would greatly focus on the state.
“Thus, it is time for Sarawak to play an important role in the development of the country, at the same time will also receive better economic and social development under Tan Sri Muhyiddin’s leadership,” he said.
