KUCHING: Sarawak Digital Randau radio programme returns this month with the topic “Juh, Know What Is Old Kuching Smart Heritage (OKSHE)” telling listeners state-wide on the initiative in preserving and conserving heritage.

OKSHE is an initiative under the Chief Minister’s Department to preserve and conserve culture and heritage through smart technology.

Among its objectives are to upgrade the socio-economy of the local community through changes in lifestyle.

Among the initiatives implemented is the OKSHE Agenda, held on March 25-31 which introduced e-wallet such as Sarawak Pay, to operators of hawker stalls in the village, competition involving applications such as e-contest which offered interesting prizes, amazing race using smart phones, etc.

“OKSHE is a pioneer project to make Old Kuching a smart heritage in Kuching within the next five years,” said deputy chief scientist cum advisor of state Digital Economic Prof Dr Al Khalid Othman in an interview.
