Sarawak enforces EMCO in 35 new localities


KUCHING: Thirty-five new localities in the state have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said ten of the localities are in Bintulu district which have been placed under the EMCO from Sept 4 to Sept 17.

These are a rental room above Laundry 101 Shop, Tg Batu Commercial Centre; a rental room above Kiong Huat Shop, Tg Batu; Ska Logistic Sdn Bhd Workers Quarters; Lorong 3, Jalan Alamanda 6, Jade Garden; Rh Awal Anak Ngindang, Batu 17 Jalan Bintulu-Miri; Rh Musa Anak Asit, Batu 17, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; Rh Robert Anak Seman, Batu 15, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; Rumah (Rh) Garena Anak Pi, Batu 17, Jalan Bintulu-Miri; a rental room above Turbowolf Resources Shop, Jalan Tg Batu; and Rh Nyaing Anak Unol, Kg Sg Segan, Ulu Sebauh.

Rh Sumping, Wong Bebelit, Ulu Entaih in Pakan has also been placed under EMCO on Sept 4 and will end on Sept 20.

Three workers quarters namely Quality Concrete Sdn Bhd Workers Quarters in Bintulu district; Estate 3, Ladang Jendela Padu Workers Quarter and Kem Kayu Balak WTK Tubau Workers Quarters both in Sebauh district are under the EMCO from Sept 3 until Sept 16.

In Tatau district, Rh Buda Anak Gayah, Sg Selitut, Jalan Tatau/Bintulu and Rh Michael Junus Anak Rekan, Nanga Tekalit are also under the EMCO from Sept 3 – 16.

Two longhouses in Sri Aman namely Rh Andrew, Kampung Ng San, Undop and Rh Along, Kampung Entebar, Undop are placed under the EMCO from Sept 4 until Sept 17.

The other longhouses are Rh Biyan, Kerangan Rian; Rh Geraik, Rayah Ili; and Rh Sabang/ Rh Kiroh, Rantau Limau, Ulu Kanowit.

Rh Sujang, Sedarat Salin in Lubok Antu district as well as Rh Umar, Sg Temiang; Rh Suntik, Ng Kakup, Entaih, and Rh George, Nanga Nansang all in Pakan district.

Rh Naning, Sg Baji in Sarikei; Kampung Mentu Mawang, Kampung Mentu Pondok, and Mentu Tapu in Serian district; Kampung Tanjung Bako in Kuching district; Kampung Selampit in Lundu; and Rh Minggu, Batu 28, and Skim Sekuau in Selangau district.

Meanwhile, Rh Ampi, Bajau and Rh Lembang, Engkudu, Sebetan both in Saratok district as well as Rh Salaka, Bratong Baroh, Roban in Kabong district are under the EMCO from Sept 6 until Sept 20.

The committee also announced the end of EMCO in nine localities on Sept 5. They are Rh Umping Baleh in Kapit district; Rh Julai, Kampung Entawa Wong Padong, Undop, Rh Majeng, Kampung Po Ai, and Rh Able, Kampung Gran Stumbin all in Sri Aman district; Uma Lesong, Sungai Asap in Belaga district; as well as four localities in Bintulu district namely a rental room above Jireh Corner Shop, Bintulu central, Bumirim Sdn Bhd Workers Quarters, Rh Roselind Anak Suang, Batu 7 Jalan Bintulu-Miri, and Rh Jarawa Anak Sumok, Sungai Plan.

On another note, the SDMC also reported that Matu district has turned to orange status from yellow after recording 31 cases in the past 14 days.

To date, the state has 32 red districts; three orange districts; four yellow districts; and one green status district.
