Sarawak enters Phase 2 on tomorrow

KUCHING: Sarawak will move into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) tomorrow (Wednesday, July 14) at 12.00am.

This was said by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) which stated that the decision came after the committee and National Security Council (MKN) conducted risk assessments; taking into consideration the threshold values for the three NRP indicators.

“The existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be effective until 11.59pm on Tuesday (July 13) and we have uploaded the infographic on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ‘Roadmap To Recovery Plan’ for the Four Phases.

“This is to facilitate the public in understanding the permitted and prohibited SOPs from one phase to the next which will be implemented throughout the four phases in Sarawak.

“The detailed SOP for the specific phases will be released by MKN and can be accessed via its website (,” it said in a statement yesterday (July 12).

The committee also congratulated all who have given their cooperation which allowed Sarawak to move onto the Phase Two of NRP.

“We would like to thank all of the frontliners and those who have been working hard to ensure the smooth progress of the vaccination exercise in the state.

“At the same time, we would like to urge the public to strictly continue with the preventive measures and self-control to ensure that we can break the chain of Covid-19 transmission as soon as possible,” it said.

On another note, the committee disclosed that the enhanced movement order (EMCO) will be enforced at two locations.

The workers’ quarters of Ladang Estate Sime Darby Plantation in Bintulu district will undergo EMCO from July 11 to 24 while Rumah Mulok, Klua Krian in Saratok district from July 12 to 25.
