Starting from Aug 14 this year, the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) is introducing a transition from physical tickets to electronic tickets (e-tickets) for entry into its national parks and nature reserves, with the Wind Cave and Fairy Cave Nature Reserve being the first to adopt the new system.
“We’re excited to announce an upcoming change in our park entry system to enhance convenience and environmental sustainability.
“Visitors will be required to present their e-tickets for entry. This innovative approach aims to streamline your park experience and reduce paper waste,” SFC said in a statement posted on its Facebook on today (Aug 10).
SFC stressed its commitment to preserving the state’s natural heritage while embracing technological advancements.
The e-ticket system will gradually be extended to various other destinations in the following months: Semenggoh Nature Reserve on Sept 4, Bako National Park on Sept 18, Matang Wildlife Centre on Oct 2, Kubah National Park on Oct 2, Gunung Gading National Park on Oct 2, Niah National Park on Oct 16, Lambir Hills National Park on Oct 16, Similajau National Park on Oct 16, and Visitors Information Centre, Kuching on Oct 30.
“Rest assured, the transition to e-tickets will be user-friendly and easily accessible to all visitors. This new system is expected to simplify park visits and contribute to collective efforts in environmental conservation.”
