KUCHING: Sarawak has been allocated a budget of RM4.3 billion under Budget 2019 for the implementation of 569 development projects.

Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong said the amount is the second largest allocation for state in the country.

Speaking at a press conference at the party headquarters here, she said the allocation was distributed to all districts statewide.

The projects included infrastructural projects like upgrading of roads, drains and construction of clinics, she said.

In villages, the amount would be used for the construction of Rumah Mesra, giving out of fertilisers and also the repair of dilapidated schools, among others, she said.

So far, she said, all the 569 projects are being carried out.

Meanwhile, Sarawak DAP will hold a dinner themed, “Sarawak, Here we come” on June 21.

Dinner organising chairman Sim Kiat Leng said yesterday that the dinner tickets are priced at RM380, RM600 and VIP RM1,000 per table.

He said as government funds are not allowed to be used for party matters, DAP has to sell the tickets to raise funds.
