KUCHING: Despite our differences with our siblings, we will always come back to one another as family. This symbiotic relationship describes the support between Sarawak and Indonesia during the ongoing Sarawak Timber SMEs Expo 2019.

According to Rezza, 44 (pic), from Singkawang, Indonesia, the opportunity to participate in the expo reflects Sarawak’s generosity in helping the timber industry players as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) not only in Sarawak but also in Indonesia.

“In fact, we were given the same treatment as other local exhibitors to participate and promote Indonesian products,” he told New Sarawak Tribune at the expo which is being held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) .

The expo which aimed to promote timber, non-timber as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)’s products produced by local manufacturers and the SMEs in Sarawak also witnessed international participations such as Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and Japan as well as Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.

“Speaking on behalf of the SMEs from Indonesia, I would like to thank the Sarawak government for providing us this opportunity to promote our products on such a platform which enables us to widen our network as well as reaching bigger market,” he said.

For Rezza, such an  expo will foster better ties between Sarawak and Indonesia as well as supporting each other and competing in a healthy way.
