KUCHING: The Sarawak International Festival Music and Arts (Sifma), an exciting hybrid event by the Festival of Arts, will be held over the weekend of Nov 20 and 21 here with a live virtual broadcast via Sifma’s website, www.sifma.com.my, on Nov 21.
Sifma will focus on reviving the dynamic field of music and arts on the world stage.
The event will see communities from different corners of the globe coming together to celebrate the arts, with world renowned dancers, conductors, choirs, singers, and artists from Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the United Kingdom among the line-up.
Not to be missed also are Sarawak Chinese Ensemble led by Kenwy Ho Khong Wee, director of Kenwy Music and Arts Academy, and Karya Terindah Performing Arts (KTPA) in Kuching.
Sifma will also feature two segments over the course of the two-day hybrid event.
The ‘Let’s Talk’ segment gives the audiences the chance to hear inspirational stories and sound advice from members of the music and arts community, including both industry professionals as well as music and arts enthusiasts. All are welcome in this segment.
The ‘Be A Host’ segment invites people to enjoy watching the live virtual showcase with friends or family via a watch party hosted by the individual, from the comfort of everyone’s respective locations, anywhere in the world.
It is an exciting way to enjoy the festival together with loved ones during this pandemic.
Participants can create their own theme or unique style and have great fun with their friends even if they are apart. On top of that, participants stand to win great prizes.
Sifma by the Festival of Arts is organised by International Music House (IMH) Kuching and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MTAC) Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB).
