Sarawak no reply against Kelantan

KUCHING: Sarawak FA suffered their second defeat in the Challenge Cup after Kelantan gave them 3-0 thrashing at the Sarawak Stadium here last night. Kelantan opened account through Fauzi Rozlan’s goal in the 34th minute. The visiting team continued to play aggressively and Mohd Khairul Rizam Che Soh gave Kelantan the second goal in the 45th minute.

Fauzi Roslan scored his second goal in the 88th minute to seal the game with a 3-0 win for Kelantan. Kelantan FA coach Zahasmi Ismail praised his players fighting spirit, saying that they played well and deserved the victory.

Zahasmi said his local players played well and contributed much to the victory. “Our target now is to reach the semifinal of the competition,”he added.

Meanwhile, Sarawak interim coach Danny Dai’al said, although his team lost the match, his young players played well. He said two young players Muhammad Firdaus Fauzi and Georgi Kinkladze played very well. Danny said he fielded those young players in order to give them the exposure.
