KUCHING: The Sarawak Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) Youth chief has slammed top Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders for saying that they had brought more freedom of speech.

Hamdan Sani pointed out that the statements from four top PH leaders at a fundraising dinner here on Sunday, were conflicting and confusing.

“It’s strange that none of the top PH leaders talked about their manifesto…to promise Sarawak better accessibility and facilities in rural areas, improving education, to increase investment and provide employment opportunities, as well as Sarawak’s rights regarding its natural resources.”

Labelling the PH government as a fraud, Hamdan opined that the “PH government has zero contribution in elevating social development of the Sarawak people.”

“The recent remark made by Finance Minister Lee Guan Eng that the federal government would not assist the state to provide education and infrastructure aid unless its debts was fully settled.”

He was also puzzled that Parti Keadilan Rakyat leader Datuk Anwar Ibrahim had repeatedly mentioned PAS during the event.

“Does this mean that Anwar recognises PAS’ strength in Sarawak?

“Or maybe Anwar has realised the need to establish good relations with opposition parties such as Gabungan Parti Sarawak, PAS and United Malays National Organisation?” he questioned, while reminding Sarawakians not to fall for PH’s false promises.

“PH has betrayed and deceived us at the 14th General Election.  We need to ensure that we can further develop our state without PH,” he added.
