KUCHING: The Pergerakan Puteri Islam Malaysia (PPIM) Perhubungan Negeri Sarawak annual meeting was held at the Kuching North City Hall auditorium in Petra Jaya here.

The meeting was chaired by Sarawak PPIM chairman Datuk Seri Sharifah Mordiah Tuanku Fauzi and attended by 125 participants comprising committee members, teachers, student representatives and an officer from the State Education Department.

Among the events at the meeting last Saturday were a briefing on ‘Evaluation and Direction of PPIM PN Sarawak’ by Julia Muhamadin and a motivational talk on ‘Volunteerism’ by Dr Asmah Othman.

As part of its outreach programme to serve school students, PPIM is planning to open its branches in Saratok, Mukah and Sibu Divisions in addition to the existing ones in Kuching and Samarahan.

This is in line with PPIM’s vision to inculcate noble and caring values besides nurturing healthy and positive spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development among school students.

This is to enable them to play an active role in society and to guard themselves against social ills.

Meanwhile, corporate organisations and individuals who wish to contribute to the activities of PPIM can contact its office at Level 2, Sublot 2, Jalan Semarak, Petra Jaya 93050 Kuching.
