LONG LAMA: The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) held a breaking of fast do at Masjid Darussalam Belarek here on Wednesday (April 27).
“Masjid Darussalam Belarek is named after me, and I am delighted that Muslims are now increasing in Long Lama.

“The activities of Muslims here are always to promote harmony as well as to establish closer ties with followers of other religions,” said Orang Ulu National Association (Ouna) president Datuk Abu Bakar@Tom Belarek.

He praised Ukas for holding the event as it was not only for Muslims but also for non-Muslims.

This is a sign that this country is peaceful and prosperous. People from all races and religions can sit together in comfort and harmony.

Also in attendance was district officer Baru Tai. This programme is in line with the ‘Semarak Ramadan’ theme, to support our Muslim friends who are currently undergoing fasting, which is challenging.

He also wished all Muslims in Long Lama a safe Aidilfitri. It is important to remember that Covid-19 is still around even though we have entered the endemic phase. Always prioritise personal hygiene and follow standard operating procedures.
