Sarawak recorded 22 new cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 22 new positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (Jan 11), an increase from the seven cases reported on Monday (Jan 10).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily statement said this brought the state’s case tally to 252,527.

Of the new cases recorded, 11 were in Category 1 (no symptoms), nine in Category 2 (mild symptoms), and two in Category 3 (lung infection).

On the breakdown of the cases according to district, SDMC said Kuching accounted for eight cases, Samarahan (three), and Bintulu, Sibu and Limbang (two each).

Meanwhile, Miri, Lawas, Serian, Beluru, and Matu each recorded one new case.

No new COVID-19 fatalities or clusters were reported on Tuesday.
