Sarawak records no new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING: No new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Sarawak on Tuesday (Aug 25).

The total number of cases remains unchanged at 696 ever since the last five cases were detected on Aug 5.

There were also no new recovery and discharged cases, with the number remaining at 662 or 95.11 per cent.

“A total of 15 people are still receiving treatment at hospital isolation wards. Nine cases are being treated at Bintulu Hospital, four cases at Sarawak General Hospital, and one each at Sibu and Miri hospitals.

“The death toll remains at 19 or 2.73 per cent,” said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Nineteen new persons-under-investigation were reported.

SDMC also added that 165 persons-under-surveillance (PUS) had been checked into hotels to undergo quarantine, bringing the total number of PUS at 14 hotels to 912, while 22,331 PUS had completed their quarantine period.
