Sarawak sees Covid-19 cases drop to 406

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a significant drop of Covid-19 daily cases to 406 from 480 previously, bringing the total to 246,264 so far.

The number of categories 1 and 2 cases are 403 while categories 3, 4 and 5 cases recorded only six, said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update.

“The number of Covid-19 deaths are seven, which occurred on Oct 25, Oct 28 and between Nov 7 and Nov 10. All deaths have history of comorbidities and the oldest fatality is an 88-year-old man.

“The committee has also decided that two clusters, namely Opar cluster in Bau district and Mapu cluster in Tebedu district, have ended after no cases were recorded in the past 28 days,” said SDMC.

A total of 16 clusters remained active and there were no additional cases recorded from all of the clusters.

The breakdown of the cases saw Kuching with 113 cases while Miri recorded 76, followed by Sibu (55), Bintulu (26), Lawas (22), Serian (20), Tanjung Manis (15) and Betong (12).

Limbang and Lundu each recorded nine cases, eight in Samarahan and seven in Bau while Kapit, Song and Julau each recorded five cases.

Other than that, three cases were recorded each in Mukah, Sarikei and Asajaya, two cases each in Kanowit, Subis and Tatau, and Pusa, Simunjan, Belaga Marudi, Selangau, Kabong and Bukit Mabong each recorded one Covid-19 case.
