KUCHING: The newly minted Sarawak Skills Talent Development Gallery showcases the Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions’ (Sarawak Skills) ongoing talent development voyage as a stakeholder in the transformation of Sarawak’s socioeconomic landscape.

Located in the lobby of the Sarawak Skills Group headquarters, Tabuan Jaya here, the gallery was launched on Wednesday (Sept 14) by Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain, chairman of the Sarawak Skills Development Centre and pro-chancellor of i-CATS University College.

He was joined by Shanton Mowe, vice-chairman III of the Sarawak Skills Management Council; and Datuk Maznah Dasmi, secretary of the Sarawak Skills Management Council during the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the entrance to the gallery.

This was followed by the signing of the plaque by Abdul Aziz and a tour of the gallery.

“In designing this gallery, we have endeavoured to share our past, where we are today, and provide a glimpse into our future activities.

“Indeed, it is our hope that this gallery will be a source of inspiration for current and future generations of educators and learners to advance the noble cause of talent development in tandem with the blistering pace of technological innovation and digital transformation,” said Hallman Sabri, the executive director of Sarawak Skills and chairman of the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres.

He added that during the course of the voyage to equip students and trainees with industry-relevant skills, the support of stakeholders, namely the government and various sectors of industry, was crucial.

“That includes the tremendous support from our management council and members, as well as staff.”
