KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library will once again organise the ‘Juh Nambah Ilmu 2018’ programme from 26 until 29 March 2018 in several public and rural libraries in Sarawak including Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Lubok Antu, Betong, SIbu and Mukah.
Among the activities to be held in conjunction with the ‘Juh Nambah Ilmu 2018’ programme are the ‘Ilmu di Hujung Jari’ programme for senior citizens, My Favourite Read Session, E-storytelling: Imagine a Butterfly, The Art of Craft, MakeyMakey for children, Makerspace activities such as 3D Printing and 3Doodler (Build your own name) for youths and high school students.
The programme is aimed at promoting the Sibu Library which will be opened in 2019 besides forming a community that cultivates knowledge. In addition, this programme is expected to produce informative and knowledgeable people especially in relation to current technology.
On 26 March 2018, the ‘Juh Nambah Ilmu’ programme will be held at the Public Library of Kota Samarahan Municipal Council and the Public Library of Kota Padawan meanwhile on 27 March at the Engkilili Public Library, Lubok Antu Public Library, Kampung Tengah Pusa Village Library, Pusa Public Library.
On 28 March, it will be held at Sibu Public Library Lanang Branch (Grand Heights), Teku Village Library, Sukun Public Library and Durin Public Library. On 29 March it will involve Kampung Teh Village Library, Mukah Public Library, Dalat Public Library and Oya Village Library.
People who live nearby the libraries are welcome to participate in the programme. Participation is free. In addition, public are invited to register as library members for free.
The first ‘Juh Nambah Ilmu’ programme was successfully held on 24 until 29 July 2017 in several public libraries and village libraries in Sri Aman, Betong and Sibu. A total of 731 people participated in the programme.
