Sarawak student representatives from various institutions of higher learning in Peninsular Malaysia meeting Dr Annuar.

KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-five Sarawak student representatives from various institutions of higher learning in Peninsular Malaysia gathered on Monday (Dec 19) to meet with Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development.

The session, organised by the ministry, was aimed at getting feedback from students on their needs and common issues faced while studying away from home, and also to foster close relationship between student representatives and the ministry.

The students were also given a brief insight into the Sarawak government’s directions for socioeconomic development, as well as the opportunities available with regard to human capital development in Sarawak.

The session involved student representatives from six universities, namely Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa, Management and Science University, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.

Also present were ministry permanent secretary Azmi Bujang; the Sarawak government relations officer from Rumah Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur, Awang Supian Awang Daud; as well as officers from the ministry and Rumah Sarawak.
