KUCHING: Sarawak and the United Kingdom (UK) are set to strengthen their trade and business ties.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that these plans aim to boost investment opportunities for both parties.

He said this during a meeting with the UK’s Minister of State from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Anne-Marie Belinda Trevelyan, at Wisma Sumber Alam on Friday.

They also discussed potential partnerships in the green economy and carbon capture and storage projects in Sarawak.

Also present were Deputy State Secretary Datuk Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni, and Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (Mintred) advisor Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, among other officials.
