KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian has called on Sarawakians to vote for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to give Sarawak a stronger voice in demanding its eroded rights.

Dr Sim reminded that Malayan-based coalitions would always put the interest of Sarawakians last.

“We are sick and tired of being (treated) like an afterthought.

“West Malaysians have been wanting their idols to become the prime minister but we have to know that this is not the problem to be fixed but the entire federal system. The truth is that politicians are there for the short term but the system is the one that is there for generations.

“Let me ask you whether you want to fix the prime minister or the system that has been there for so long that kept us as an unimportant afterthought? What we want is a federal government that breaks their usual way of governing and treats us fairly,” Dr Sim said today.

He also urged electorates to give GPS a strong mandate.

“Tomorrow is the first time in 59 years where you can make the change by helping us (GPS) to win all 31 seats in order for us to have a bigger bargaining chip to demand what’s rightfully ours.

“This can only happen if you give Sarawak a strong voice. Do not think that your vote doesn’t count because each vote is critical and your vote matters.

“Tomorrow is the day where our future generations can look back and see it as the turning point for the rise of Sarawak.

“With GPS, we can make this happen by being united because our time has come and the future is in your hands,” Dr Sim added.
