Sarawakiana Exhibition: Malaysia Day opens at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Sibu

SIBU: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PNS) Sibu held the opening ceremony of the Sarawakiana Exhibition: Malaysia Day with Aaron Chew Wei-Li, which took place at its Youth Corner on Monday (Sept 18).

The opening ceremony was graced by Nur Amanina, head of the Division of Sarawakiana at PNS Sibu, who represented PNS Sibu regional manager Fairul Azli Banchit.

Chew, an architecture lecturer at the University of Technology Sarawak, is renowned for his expertise in the Zendala art style.

According to a press statement from PNS Sibu, the Malaysia Day exhibition, held at its exhibition area on Level 1, commenced on Sept 11 and will run until Oct 11. 

The exhibition features 18 works of art created by talented local artists, including Chew, with his unique Zendala art style showcased beautifully through ink on paper and digital art techniques, captivating the hearts of visitors.

“Additionally, the exhibition includes 10 panels that provide insight into the history of Malaysia Day throughout the years.

“It also features Malaysia Day Poems, created by intern students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, displayed digitally to provide a deeper understanding of the significance of celebrating Malaysia Day.”
