KUCHING: The 55th edition of the ADUN N15 Asajaya Unity Cup Football Championship which is the oldest football tournament in Sarawak is back again and the championship will take place from April 24 to May 7.

Its organiser, Kelab Bola Sepak Sambir Bistari (KBSB) will be holding the championship at the Sambir Village Football Arena.

This championship serves as a platform for showcasing the skills and abilities of up-and-coming football stars. It is evident that some state- level football players were born out of the organisation of football matches in Sambir around the 1980s and until now.

In a press release issued by LEA Sports Centre, it stated that most of the teams participating in this tournament come from teams around the cities of Kuching, Samarahan, Sadong Jaya, Simunjan, and Asajaya.

“This year, KBSB, in collaboration with Lea Sports Centre (LSC) as the main sponsor, with cash prizes donated by Asajaya assemblyman Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, provides an opportunity and space for participating teams to compete for the title of champions in Sambir.
