DEBAK: A total of RM180,000 in special project assistance was distributed to 36 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in the Saribas constituency.
Deputy Minister of Community Welfare Mohammad Razi Sitam, who handed over the assistance said the allocation provided by the government should be used properly.
“I hope all JKKK in Saribas can utilise this government fund for the implementation of activities at the village or longhouse,” he said after the handing over ceremony which was also attended by Betong District Officer Sofhi Jebal and Temenggung Betong Division Pi’ee Alwi.
Razi who is Saribas assemblyman pointed out that community leaders and tribal leaders (KMKK) have a very important role in developing the area.
“At the grassroots level, they become mediators who unite various parties for the common good,” he said.
