SARIKEI: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Sarikei branch welcomed with open arms more than 100 new members yesterday.

They are mainly former members of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) while the rest have never been in any political party.
They were feted to lunch hosted by Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii after the Sarikei SUPP women and youth central exco meeting here yesterday.

Huang, who is also Sarikei SUPP chairman, hoped that the new members would join the party’s struggle sincerely.

He said the new members would strengthen the party and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak alliance in facing the next state election.
Huang told reporters that Sarikei SUPP had received many membership applications lately but they were still being processed in stages by the party headquarters in Kuching.
