Sarorso delegation visits Jumaani

KUCHING: The chief minister’s wife, Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang received a courtesy visit from a Sarawak Orchid Society (Sarorso) delegation today.

The visit happened at the office of the Association of Wives of State Ministers, Assistant Ministers and State Assemblymen (Sabati) at Wisma Sultan Tengah here. Jumaani is Sabati’s president.  

The Sarorso delegation was led by its president Zurenawatte Zaidel.

The visit was to inform Juma’ani of the latest development of orchid species in the vitro micropropagation project implemented by 11 students of Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) as well as the society’s current activities.

MRSM Kuching is a pioneer and made history by establishing the first ever “Juma’ani In Vitro Laboratory” in Malaysia.

Juma’ani, who is also the patron of First State Orchid Conservatory (Ibu Konservasi Orkid Negeri Pertama), also presented an appreciation certificate to MRSM Kuching principal, Riza Omar in conjunction with his transfer to MRSM Besut, Terengganu tomorrow.

He received the certificate for his high commitment and efforts in pioneering the implementation of orchid species in vitro micropropagation project with the involvement of students starting in July 2019.
