SIBU: The Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) held a  dialogue session with the Sibu Immigration Department at the former’s premises here on Tuesday (Oct 24) .

Among others, the dialogue touched on the visa issues faced by foreign tourists when visiting Malaysia.

SCCCI, led by its chairman Datuk Lau Cheng Kiong, delved into the flexibility of visa policies, process enhancements, the implementation of electronic visas, and opportunities to collaborate closely with Immigration Department officials.

Lau said the tourism industry has been a vital component of the country’s economic growth, attracting millions of foreign tourists annually.

“However, with the rapidly changing world, visa policies have profound impact on the attractiveness and visitor experience for tourists.
