SIBU: A total of 11 applicants have been selected to receive the Datuk Hii Yii Peng Foundation Scholarship for this year.
They were among the 59 people who had applied for the scholarship.
The foundation chairman Datuk Hii King Chiong said the successful applicants would be notified in due course.
“For the unsuccessful applicants, they can apply again next year,” he added during a press conference yesterday.
Since the foundation was established in 1985, he said they had given out a total of 430 scholarships worth RM3.6 million.
“Of the total, 403 of the scholars have completed their study,” said Hii.
Also present were Hii Ching Chiong (foundation secretary) and Datin Ting Hua Eng.
