MIRI: Thanks to Sibuti assemblyman Lukanisman Awang Sauni’s offer of scholarships, children in his constituency are able to continue their studies at institutes of higher learning (IPTs).
Parents should encourage their children to apply for the scholarships by contacting the Sibuti Service Centre, here.
Lukanisman said the scholarships were a form of encouragement to students to further their studies.
“Children’s education is the most important key to developing a generation of quality and useful citizens for the development of our country,” he said during a scholarship presentation ceremony at Taman Tunku, here on Thursday (Feb 10).
He said the initiative would also lessen the burden of parents.
A similar ceremony to hand over the scholarships was held at the Sibuti Service Centre in Pekan Bekenu.
In total 56 students received the scholarships worth RM24,500.
