LIMBANG: A 17-year-old school drop-out of Kampung Limpaong here was detained by the district police narcotic division.

According to Limbang District Police chief,  Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai, the teenager was nabbed behind a shop in the town, yesterday.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspect was found with a plastic straw containing a substance which is believed to be ‘syabu’ inside a packet of cigarette.

“A urine sample from the suspect was also tested positive for methamphetamine,” he told the media yesterday.

Police also seized 0.21 gram of drug worth RM50 from the suspect.

The suspect is being detained to facilitate investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act,1952.

In an unrelated case, a 23-year-old man from Kampung Gumaya was nabbed on suspicion of being involved in a house break-in case at Jalan Pandaruan last month.

The house owner only knew of the break-in when he returned home after a vacation at 10.30 am.

Mohd Bukhori said among items seized from the suspect included an air-conditioner, computer and various types of electrical appliances which were reported missing by the house owner.

The suspect is being detained for further investigation.
