DALAT: A teenager was arrested by police for allegedly raping a Form 3 student. District police chief DSP Roslan Leman said the 15-year-old school dropout was picked up at his house at Kampung Sungai Ud at around 10.30pm last Friday.
DSP Roslan revealed that the victim and suspect were in a relationship, having known each other via social media two months ago.
“The suspect had brought the victim out on a motorcycle and they went to the suspect’s house at about 8.30pm last Thursday.
“The couple slept together in the suspect’s room. However, the following morning, the victim woke up to find the suspect groping her and later forced to have sexual intercourse,” said DSP Roslan.
He added that at around 12pm last Friday, the victim asked the suspect to send her home but feared being scolded by her mother.
DSP Roslan said the victim’s brother then went to the suspect’s house and brought the duo to the police station – the suspect was arrested shortly after at his house.
“Police also confiscated the suspect’s mattress as evidence,” DSP Roslan said, adding that the suspect would be remanded for four days to facilitate investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
