KUCHING: Two school dropouts, aged 12 and 14, were arrested on Saturday for suspected involvement in 19 home burglary cases in the Batu Kawa New Township (MJC).

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the 12-year-old suspect was arrested at about 12pm at MJC while the other suspect was picked up by the police at around 3.25pm at the five-foot way of a commercial block in MJC.

“During interrogation, both suspects admitted to breaking into a house and selling some jewellery at a gold shop in Batu Kawa.

According to him, the 14-year-old suspect had a previous criminal record under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
“We also seized the clothes the 12-year-old suspect wore during the incident,” he said.
Aidil added both suspects had been remanded for further action.

Commenting further, he said the house occupant realised someone had entered his home on July 31 at around 5.30pm through the main door by damaging the iron fence.
