School’s PTA dinner draws 500

KUCHING: A total of 500 people attended Sekolah Kebangsaan Nanga Klassen’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) dinner at a restaurant in Sri Aman on Friday night.

Present to officiate at the event was Community Wellbeing assistant minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, who is also Simanggang assemblyman.

In his speech, he said that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government’s policy is geared to serve the interest of the people of Sarawak.

“The state government will continue to channel funds to provide infrastructure and facilities to the people.

“We will fund the Village Safety and Development Committee (JKKK) activities which in turn would benefit the people,” Harden, who is also the school’s PTA patron, said.

At the ceremony, he pledged RM20,000 in terms of minor rural project (MRP) funds to the PTA for their activities.

Also present were Harden’s wife Datin Simba Nalang, Sri Aman District Council walikota Anthony Abell Chendan and Lubok Antu district education officer Vivien Mujah.
