SCPA calls on top cop

KUCHING: Sarawak Community Policing Association (SCPA) paid a courtesy call on the Kuching district police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani at the latter’s office, Simpang Tiga here yesterday.

The SCPA delegation was led by its chairman Datuk Dr Lau Pang Heng, said a press statement.

During the call, SCPA discussed with Awang Din concerning residents’ concerns at Stutong Baru and thanked the police for their immediate action to rectify the matter.

Lau also sought police’s approval to conduct a crime prevention walk around with the police at Pelita Heights on Aug 16 from 8.30am to 10am.

Awang Din was very appreciative towards SCPA’s role working with the police in building a peaceful Kuching with emphasis on safety and security.

SCPA was founded in May 2015 to serve as eye and ear for the police to bring about a better Kuching and Sarawak.

Besides Lau, the delegation comprised SCPA executive committee members, namely David Hii Ching Loung (deputy secretary), Datuk Seri Victor Hii (deputy chairman) and Ngo Chun Hun (committee member).
