SCPA, police team up for patrol

KUCHING: The Sarawak Community Policing Association (SCPA) and the police  conducted a citizen crime prevention patrol in Bintawa and Pending Industrial estate on Friday evening.

SPCA members were led by Ngo Chun Hun, the unit leader for Bintawa and Pending areas.

Also present during the patrol were SCPA chairman Datuk John Lau, assistant secretary Moh Hua Aik and Bintawa police station acting head Sergeant Siti Mariam.

Siti conveyed her appreciation to SCPA members for cooperating with the police in crime prevention.

She highlighted the need to observe the rule of law during patrols and to always follow instructions given by the police.

During the patrol, the team spotted a group of suspicious youths in a compound during the late hours. They were then brought to the police station for further questioning.

In the meantime, Lau said SCPA’s duty was to work with the police for  a safer and secure community.

“SCPA is an associate member of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation,” he explained.
