SDMC approves CNY SOPs

KUCHING: The Unit For Other Religions’ (UNIFOR) standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the coming Chinese New Year celebration have been approved by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

SDMC said yesterday (Jan 13) that the guidelines were available on its website: https://sarawakdisastermc.com.

On the increased number of flights from Malaya and Sabah, the SDMC had on Wednesday (Jan 12) agreed to increase the frequency of flights from both regions to Sarawak from 307 flights weekly to 562 weekly starting today (Jan 14).

The flight information is also made available on the Ministry of Transportation Sarawak website, SDMC said.

Meanwhile, 18 new Covid-19 cases were reported here yesterday for a cumulative total of 252,568 cases.

Lawas district recorded four new cases, Kuching, Miri and Song (two each) and Limbang, Serian, Sri Aman and Kapit (one each).

No deaths or no new clusters were recorded but 729 hotspots were reported, SDMC said.

SDMC said there were 478 cases of people under surveillance (PUS) with 111 new PUS cases and 162,754 PUS discharged.
