SDMC imposes lockdown at six localities, ends six others

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced the imposition of enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at six locations in Pakan, Bintulu, Betong, Simunjan, Sibu and Kanowit.

“The EMCO will be enforced at Rh. Empi, Tanjong Lelengau, Pakan from June 17 until July 3,” it said in a statement today.

“It will be enforced in two localities at Kuarters PekerjaShem Lee and Kuarters Pekerja Kemena Holdings, Jalan Baru Tatau-Bintulu, in Bintulu from June 17 until June 30,”

The committee added the EMCO would be enforced at Rh. Dana, Ng Tebalau in Betong from June 18 until July 1.

“The EMCO will also be enforced at Kampung Munggu Sabun in Simunjan from June 18 until July 1 and at Rh. Empauk anak Manggi, Pulau Dudong in Sibu from June 19 until July 2.

“It will be extended at Rh. Kubu, Nanga Tada in Kanowit from June 19 until July 2.”

It also announced the end of the EMCO at six localities in Sebauh, Bintulu, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Tatau and Dalat.

The EMCO at Rh. Mabong anak Juwat & Rh. Albert anak Mejang, Sg Stam Rasan, Tubau in Sebauh ended on June 15 while the EMCO at Rh. Garai, Sungai Minus Jakar in Sarikei ended today (June 17).

EMCO in four localities in Bintulu – at Rh. Mujah anak Atin, Batu 12, Jalan Bintulu-Miri, Bilik Sewa Atas Kedai My Rojak, Medan Assyakirin, Rh. Asim anak Anyi, and Batu 12, Jalan Bintulu-Miri ended on June 15 and at Setinggan Kampung Pisang, Jalan Samalaju on June 17.

The EMCO at Lepang Sayat, Engkelili in Sri Aman also ended today (June 17).

“It will also be ended at Kuaters Pekerja Woodman Plantation Sdn Bhd, Semanok Estate, Kuaters Pekerja Kem Gabong Trading and Rh. Abong anak Madang @ Medan, Nanga Tekalit in Tatau and at Rh. Sigah anak Lak, Sg Baoh Burak in Dalat on June 17,” SDMC said.
