KUCHING: Search and rescue (SAR) efforts entered the fifth day om Friday for a 52-year old man reported missing near Rh Suyong Stumbin, Sri Aman.
A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that two teams were divided to search for the man, identified as Sebeli Paying.
“Two teams were tasked with searching for the man within a four-kilometre radius from the location where he was last seen.
“Earlier in the morning, the team had to give way to a ‘miring’ ceremony to be conducted by the residents of the village,” the spokesperson said.
The SAR however was suspended later owing to bad weather.
On Apr 21, Sebeli left the longhouse at 10.30am on a motorcycle to go to the farm to look for bamboo shoots.
A police report was made because as of 10.36pm he had yet to come home.
His family had made an initial search at a relative’s farm where they found Sebeli’s motorcycle and other items.
