SONG: A search for an elderly man reported missing in Sungai Katibas since Saturday is now on.
That morning, Tunu Kudi, 59, went out in his boat to buy engine oil and necessities at a local shop across the river.
He is believed to have fallen from his boat into the river as villagers had found his boat drifting near the river bank.
The man’s family members were informed and a missing person report was lodged.
The State Fire Department operations centre said they received a call from Song police station requesting assistance to search for the missing man.
Firemen from Song fire station along with the police went to the scene to gather information and started the search on Monday around the area where the boat was last found.
As at press time, the man was still missing.
