KUCHING: Sarawak Energy’s Kuching Regional Office at Sungai Biawak and customer service counter at Wisma Sesco in Kuching were closed to carry out sanitisation and fumigation works.
This is a safety precaution after three employees tested positive for Covid-19 last Saturday.
Preliminary sanitisation and fumigation works have been carried out at the Kuching Regional Office last Saturday and at Wisma Sesco last Sunday — this will be repeated for thoroughness.
The Kuching Regional Office reopened today (Feb 23) while the customer service counter will reopen tomorrow (Feb 24).
According to Sarawak Energy, contact tracing is being done and close contacts will go for a swab test and undergo self-quarantine.
“Sarawak Energy has also taken measures upon detection of the positive cases at its premises, including immediately securing and closing the premises for cleaning and sanitation works, as well as having staff members who were considered as close contacts to take swab tests and undergo self-quarantine.
“We also took the initiative to activate business continuity preparedness to ensure minimal disruption of operations and services,” they said in their statement.

Sarawak Energy would also like to remind the public that they have stringent in-house standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all its offices, operation centres and power plants and cooperate with and assist the authorities with contact tracing, and other health measures.
