Sebauh speedboat race draws the crowd

BINTULU: The second day of the Sebauh Open Speedboat Race 2022, which was held at the banks of Kemena river was made lively by thousands of visitors.

Bintulu Member of Parliament  Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing was present to officiate at the finals of the 18-horse power (hp) category of the speedboat race.

The activity organised by the Kemena Power Booster Speed Boat Club in collaboration with the Sebauh District Office received 94 entries from local and outside Bintulu racers in five competing categories, namely 18hp long boat, 18hp tunnel boat, 2 piston 30hp tunnel boat, 30hp 3 piston tunnel boat and boat tunnel 50hp.

This water sport was hosted again after three years of not being held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The last time it was held was in 2018.

Sebauh district officer William Manggoi, Bintulu District deputy police chief DSP Dennis Bunyam and Kemena Power Booster Speedboat Club chairman Penghulu Nyipa Tinggang were also present.
