BETONG: The Sarawak Energy Berhad’s (SEB) transmission line project is essential to providing a more stable supply of energy in Betong.

According to Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, with the completion of the construction of the sub-station in Serudit, the reliability of the electricity supply in the area has increased.

“The consistent power supply will also encourage the development of the local economy.

“Therefore, I am grateful for the cooperation of the landowners in putting aside their personal interests and enabling the project to be implemented on their property,” he said, as reported by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

He said this at the Land Compensation Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Serudit-Sri Aman 132KV Transmission Line Project (Betong Sector) at the Betong Digital Innovation Hub yesterday (Jan 27).

Following this, Rentap advised the land compensation recipients to use their money wisely.

For the record, 21 recipients received a total of RM386,151.10 in compensation, which is the total sum handed out.
