KUCHING: The due date for payment of the second half-year 2020 assessment rate under the Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) has been extended to Nov 30.
The extension is due to the conditional movement control order and the Covid-19 pandemic, said PMC today.
PMC’s counters are open daily on working days from Monday to Friday to assist property owners who wish to pay their assessment rates.
The counters will operate from 8am until 3.30pm including lunch hours.
The discount in assessment rates for this year has been approved by the Sarawak State government.
For residential properties with annual rates of less than RM50, the discount is 100 percent; RM50.01 –RM100 (90%); RM100.01 – RM150.00 (80%); RM150.01 – 200.00 (70%); RM200.01 – RM250 (60%); RM250.01 – RM300 (50%); RM300.01 – RM350 (40%), RM350.01 – RM400 (30%) and RM400.01 and above (25%).
Discount for commercial, industrial and special purpose properties for this year is a flat 25%.
Payment of assessment rate bills can be made at all the payment counters at MPP, Service Sarawak Counters (UTC), DBKU, MBKS, SESCO, KWB, Pos Malaysia Bhd and H& L Supermarket Outlets.
Ratepayers can also pay online by accessing https://www.paybills.sarawak.gov.my.
The latest mode of online payment is using Sarawak Pay where the ratepayer with internet banking can scan the QR Code printed on the assessment rate bill and pay.
Ratepayers who are unsure of the amount of assessment rates they need to pay for the second half of 2020 or have not received their assessment rate bills or have mislaid their assessment rate bills are requested to contact or come to Padawan Municipal Council at Kota Padawan, Kuching. Copy bills can be printed at UTC, Kuching.
All telephone enquiries can be channeled to 082-615566. A surcharge of 1 % per month or part thereof will be levied if payment of rates is made after Nov 30.
