Sibu district police chief, Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 6.30am that morning, the victim’s colleagues found him not in the workers’ quarters like he used to after working on night shift.

He had also not clocked out at 6.30am as shown on his punch card.

“The company’s supervisor and friends of the missing man have been searching for him around the shipyard without success,” Stanley said.

He added that the missing guard, who had been working at the shipyard for almost a year, was seen on CCTV when he was on patrol at 4.37am on Tuesday.

“His personal belongings such as passports, mobile phones, purses and clothes are still in his bedroom,” said Stanley, who clarified that the case was classified as missing person.
