KUCHING: Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd (MASB) senior manager Jun Iskandar Murshidi said patrols at Kuching International Airport have been stepped up to tackle theft and other petty crimes.

Iskandar who is having a meeting in Kuala Lumpur said he already knew about a vehicle parked at the airport car park whose four tyres were all stolen yesterday morning.

In a telephone interview with New Sarawak Tribune, Iskandar said the MASB will collaborate with the police to investigate the matter.

At the moment, there are 40 security guards who work on shift but more patrols will be done especially at blind spots which CCTV cameras don’t cover.

Jun said so far the tyre theft was the only such case reported this year at the car park.

There was a case last year, and there could have been other cases as well but the people could have chosen to report their cases to the police and not to the MASB.
