SEDC distributes ‘qurban’ meat

KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and its subsidiaries distributed sacrificial (qurban) meat in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha at the SEDC Tower, Isthmus Kuching here.

SEDC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Husain stated that the event was initiated by the SEDC Muslim Staff Committee through a fundraiser to buy three cows from PPES Ternak Sdn Bhd, SEDC’s subsidiary, which owns a cattle ranch.

“The sacrificial meat will be distributed to several madrasah and orphanages around Kuching.

“The cows were slaughtered at the PPES Ternak centre, which is accredited by the Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System from Australia.

“The aim is to meet the standards set by the international livestock industry,” Abdul Aziz said when officiating at the event.

Also present were SEDC deputy general manager for corporate services sector, Rakayah Hamdan, and event organising chairman Nor Azlan Husaini.
