KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has extended assistance to 91 children from Rumah Kanak-kanak Datuk Ajibah Abol, Sri Aman (RKKDAA) and Rumah Kanak-kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah (RKKTPHN) here in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.

SEDC in a press release said the donation was presented during a breaking fast and congregational prayer event held at a hotel here, yesterday evening (Mar 15).

Head of State Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi presented each child with a donation of RM100 to meet their Ramadan needs, such as purchasing food and other basic necessities.

The event also was one of SEDC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at supporting and celebrating the less fortunate members of the community, particularly children, during the holy month of Ramadan.

Also present were SEDC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain, accompanied by SEDC chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir.
